I understand that as soon as a thread like this is started, people are re-directed to Greek Rank, but Greek Rank is horrible and biased! Your class is beautiful but that isnt what is most important to some chapters. My experience was that the Kappas, Thetas and Pi Phis were tops. Members have a reputation for hunting down other trust-fund kids to marrysomething that they probably don't have much difficulty doing since they are also considered cute or pretty by most. Zeta you did do great this year but you were rushing against Tri Delt, Alpha Phi, and AXO more than anyone else. They have a reputation for accepting those who were rejected by top-tier sororities and that they are a backup option for many. Again all the "rude" terms that I just associated with each house to not describe the individuals of a house, but terms like these come about when certain houses act together in poor ways. I think you are right on about all of them to a large degree. When you live with someone and work so closely with that person and others, the friendships become important. The reputation of each sorority is DIFFERENT at every sorority you go to. Generally everywhere I see pictures of Pi Phi's (top tier) and Tri Delts as having the most consistently beautiful members of the sororities. That will only spell disaster for yourself.

Sorority recruitment at UT is EXTREMELY competitive. So just saying "sororities aren't my thing" or "I'm not a sorority girl" is dumb to me. DG: some cool girls and some weird girls. F off with this. ,Im not a part of Greek life, but I have many friends who are. Very pretty, very smart, very snobbish. We don't have much of that her in or country, but from what I have gathered it's not so bad if you find the right one to be a part of. The rest of the 'general' descriptions are amazingly accurate. Sure, being a freshman gives you a better chance because you will be a 4-year member, but at the same time, sometimes the older girls that join halfway through college end up being stronger members for the short time they are there, and it also sets you apart from all the freshmen who are rushing because you are different!
